Jack Vondell studied music and English. He holds a MA in music from Middle Tennessee State university. As an award-winning composer, his published musical works have been performed across America. As a self-publishing composer, he was a non-fiction writer of advertising, grant applications, licensing agreements,  program notes, trade articles, and analyses of his music.

Then the long ignored creative writing ghost caught up with him, haunting him into studying genres and literary devices, reading more, exploring publishing markets, and letting his imagination conjure up stories as it had songs and sonatas.

Delightfully frightened by horror movies and stories since childhood, he has now written speculative fiction short stories and completed a novel (Shadliker ) in 2023 . Read short story samples here.
